     Mapledurham Local Rules

Out of Bounds 

a) In or beyond any hedge, ditch or fence bounding the course

b) The inside point at ground level of any line of white stakes or post defining out of bounds.

c) The clubhouse, car park, practice green and surrounding area.

d) To the right of the 10th and 11th fairways.

e)  Out of bounds markers between 5th and 6th apply only when playing down the 5th.



 Water Hazards 

Water Hazards are defined by yellow stakes.

Lateral Water Hazards are defined by red stakes.

Young Trees 

If a young tree (including shrubs around the teeing ground) interferes with the player's stance or area of intended swing, the player must lift and drop within one club-length from the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole, without penalty. Rule 25-1b(i).



Fixed Sprinkler Heads

If a ball comes to rest within one-club length of a fixed sprinker head, it may be lifted and dropped within one-club length from the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole, without penalty. Rule 25-1b(i)



Wrong Putting Green

If a ball lies on a green other than the one being played (including temporary greens not in use), it must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point of relief (but not in a hazard) within one-club length, not nearer the hole. Rule 25-3.

 Power Lines 

If a ball strikes a power line, or any structure holding up the power line, the player must disregard that stoke and play another ball, without penalty, as near as possible to the spot from which the original ball was played, in accordance with Rule 20-5


   Stones in bunkers

Are loose impediments and may be removed. Rule 23-1  



 Paths and Tracks

If a ball comes to rest on a path or track, it may be lifted and dropped within one club-length from the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole, without penalty. Rule 25-1b(i) 

    


Ground Under Repair 

Ground under repair: Play prohibited - Rule 25-1 applies




If a players ball lies in an area of "ground under repair" from which play is prohibited, or if such an area interfere's with the players stance or the area of his intended swing the player must take relief.  



Any bunker designated Ground Under Repair, must be declared "through the green". Drainage tracks are to be treated as Ground Under Repair.
